Psychopharmacology is the study of the effects of drugs on behavior, combining methods of psychology and pharmacology. Both human and nonhuman populations are used to investigate behavioral principles as they interact with the effects of drugs.
Pharmacokinetics is the branch of pharmacology that is concerned with the absorption, distribution, biotransformation, and excretion of drugs. Pharmacodynamics is that branch of pharmacology that investigates the biochemical and physiological effects of drugs and their mechanisms of action.
