Mission of Global Education
The primary mission of the Office of
Global Education is to internationalize the CSU San
Marcos educational experience. The ultimate objective of this
process is to prepare “students to take leadership roles in areas of
work and society in the international community of the 21st
Century.” [Founding Mission Statement] In pursuit of its mission the
Office of Global Education promotes and supports efforts to
internationalize the curriculum, affords students the opportunity to
study abroad, increases the number and diversity of international
students on campus, supports international faculty collaboration,
and fosters links with higher education institutions around the
world.
Organization
The Office of Global Education is in the Division of Academic Affairs. The
American Language and Culture Institute (ALCI), the campus English
Language Program, is under the administrative supervision of the
Director of Global Education. The International Student and
Scholar Advisor and the Study Abroad Advisor also report to the
Director of Global Education. The Office of Global Education has primary responsibility for international student
recruitment activities, exchange programs, and institution links
abroad.
