Welcome to
the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs!
The Provost is the university’s chief academic
officer and, as such, is responsible for ensuring the integrity and
excellence of academic activities at California State University San
Marcos. The deans of the colleges, extended learning, graduate
studies, instructional and information technology services, and library
report to the provost, as do the academic associate vice presidents and
the university’s director of global education.
The provost serves as a member of the
President’s Executive Council, President’s Cabinet, and North County
Higher Education Alliance (NCHEA), chairs the Academic Affairs
Leadership Council (AALC) and University Computing and
Telecommunications Committee (UCTC), co-chairs the University Budget
Committee (UBC), and is an ex-officio member of the Academic Senate.
Provost Profile
Emily F. Cutrer became Provost and
Vice President for Academic Affairs at CSU San Marcos in July 2006.
She has held faculty and administrative positions at the University of
Texas at Austin and Arizona State University, where she was most
recently Dean of the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and
Sciences. She received her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in American
Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and her scholarly
interests are in American cultural history and American visual culture. |
