- Total enrollment: 10,169. Undergraduate students: 9,439; graduate students: 730.
- CSUSM is home to a diverse population of students. Our ethnicity: 0.6 percent Native American/American Indian, 2.6 percent African American, 9.7 percent Asian/Pacific Islander, 29.4 percent Hispanic, 42.3 percent Caucasian, 11.4 percent other, and 4 percent not specified.
- 60 percent of our students receive financial assistance.
- 39 percent of our student population is male and 61 percent is female.
- 27 percent are the first members of their families to seek a college degree.
- Top 10 majors (highest enrollment) are business, psychology, nursing, Liberal Studies, human development, Communication, criminology, kinesiology, biology, and sociology.
- The mean GPA is 3.17 for enrolled freshmen and 2.95 for transfer students.
