Meet Our Students

CSU San Marcos is committed to maintaining a student-centered environment. Students connect in more than seventy student organizations, three sororities and two fraternities, multicultural programs, wellness programs, and an active student government, Associated Students Inc. (ASI). Students will find a variety of activities, exhibits, and lectures on and near the campus. Nationally recognized as a campus engaged in the community, CSU San Marcos also offers students opportunities in community service learning, internships and leadership development.

The campus intercollegiate athletics program currently includes teams in golf, track, cross country, soccer, baseball and softball. Teams compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

"San Marcos is a beautiful town to live in. It’s always friendly, and I feel at home here. There’s so much to do right here in the area! The beaches are only 15 minutes away, and I love to go to downtown San Diego and spend the day at Balboa Park or one of the animal parks. When I’m on campus, I’m usually very occupied, whether it be with school work or Greek life. There’s always something going on!"

Abraham Anaya

Picture of Abraham Anaya"Now that I’ve been at Cal State San Marcos for a few years, I can look back and see how much I’ve grown, both as a student and as a person. Being involved both inside and outside the classroom has changed me as person and has opened my mind to all the opportunities that are available to me, now and in the future. Being a student at CSUSM has truly allowed me to stand out."

Units were transferred without a hitch and the staff in the Admissions office was always there to help with easy-to-understand answers that kept me confident in my transfer process, and I was able to adjust to classes at CSUSM very easily because of the small class size and accessibility to my professors."
