Private Sector Funding — Support Services 

The mission of University Advancement is to develop greater understanding and support for University goals, programs and activities among many publics, and to secure private support to enable the University to be a recognized leader in student-centered teaching and research and to better serve the region and the state.  Our development team facilitates securing donations from individuals, corporations and foundations.  

We offer services to the university community that are focused on securing private sources of support for projects and activities that address current institutional fund raising priorities.  These services include:  

• Identify sources of grant support and facilitate communication with staff in these foundations.
• Assist in conceptualizing grant projects to ensure alignment with the funding organization’s mission and its support priorities.
• Prepare writing outlines and review drafts of Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) and proposals.
• Track the status of submitted LOIs and proposals. 

University Advancement works closely with the Office of Graduate Studies and Research and with the University Auxiliary and Research Services Corporation (UARSC), both of which offer support and services to faculty and staff seeking external grant funding. What distinguishes the support provided by University Advancement is that its support provision is exclusively focused on addressing institutional fund raising priorities.
