California Indian Legal Services

California Indian Legal Services (CILS) is the first Indian-controlled law firm organized to provide specialized legal representation to Indians and Indian tribes. CILS provides free or low-cost representation on those matters that fall within the priorities (see below) set by our Board of Trustees.

Created by California Indian leaders and public interest attorneys, CILS has been one of the preeminent advocates for the rights of Native Americans and Indian Tribes for over forty years.

Pauma Tribal Library

The mission of the Pauma AA'Alvikat Library is to provide materials and services for the Pauma Band of Mission Indians and the surrounding community, of all ages, for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to providing practical access to all forms of information and cultivating the desire to learn in people of all ages. The library houses a 5000 item resource room that includes children's books and videos, a full reference collection, and a special collection that includes American Indian, California Indian, and Local and California History. The library also has everything from a museum case to a high tech computer lab.

Rincon Education Center

Center staff assist schools with professional development, counseling, tutorial services, or parent education. They also provide supplemental and extended day instructional programs to meet the needs of American Indian students.

Tierra Miguel Farms

Tierra Miguel Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to inform and educate on the value of local sustainable agricultural practices and to demonstrate these practices on our 85-acre working produce farm.

We aim to strengthen the connection between people and the source of their food. With ecological sustainability and human health in mind, we choose to be CCOF certified organic and to use Bio-Dynamic agricultural preparations that restore harmony to the farm, heal the earth, and improve the nutritive quality of produce.
