Cougar Men’s Soccer Team to Headline “Soccer Party” in San Marcos

Soccer season is starting early in San Marcos!

Cal State San Marcos’ men’s soccer team is set to play an exhibition match against “Mexico’s Soccer Superstars” – a team featuring world-class players, many with World Cup experience.

The event, which is being put on by Golazo Sports Promotions, will take place on May 30th at San Marcos High.  Festivities will start at 3:00 PM, and will include food, games, booths, demonstrations and a festival atmosphere.  Abraham Muñoz, one of the best ball-handlers in the world, will attempt to break two Guinness World Records, and Fox Sports announcer Samuel Jacobo will be on hand to narrate the match, which kicks off at 6:00 PM.

For CSUSM Head Soccer Coach Ron Pulvers, this promises to be more than a fun event; it’s a unique community outreach opportunity.

“This is a terrific opportunity for our players to represent CSUSM and compete in front of a large audience from our community,” said Pulvers.

Tickets for the event are $15 individually or $60 for a pack of five, and can be purchased at numerous locations listed on the event flyer, or found on the CSUSM Athletics website, www.csusm.edu/athletics.  You can also find more information on the Golazo site, www.golazosd.com.
