Cougar baseball finished its season in style on Wednesday, rallying
for six runs in the final three innings to down San Diego Christian
10-8.

Home Date of Season
In their final home games of the season, Cougar baseball split
with Cal State San Bernardino, winning game one 5-3 before losing
game two 13-7.

Big 5-4 Win at San Bernardino
With just three games left in their season, Cougar baseball is
doing all it can bolster its playoff resume. On Friday, they
earned a big win at NCAA opponent Cal State San Bernardino, holding
on to take it 5-4.

April 22 -- Winning Streak Over: Baseball
Loses to Biola
Back on February 12th, Cougar baseball traveled to Biola and got
pounded by the Eagles 17-5. When the teams met on Tuesday at Mission
Bay High, CSUSM put forth a much better effort – but couldn’t quite
pull out the win, falling 5-3. The loss snaps CSUSM’s
nine-game winning streak, and deals a big blow to the squad’s
playoff hopes. They are now 19-15 on the year.

April 21 -- Baseball's Winning Streak at 9
after Two Blowouts over La Sierra
Cougar baseball continued to add to its postseason resume on Sunday,
extending its winning streak to nine games with a pair of blowout
victories over La Sierra. CSUSM won game one 11-4, then took
game two 19-4, improving their record to 19-14 on the season.

Cougar baseball continued to roll on Saturday,
issuing a 16-2 pounding of Occidental College. Tristan Gale
led the way with a pair of homers.

March 29 -- Austin Way is Pretty Much On Fire;
Baseball Blasts Bethany 17-7
Cal State San Marcos Baseball crawled above .500 for the first time
this season, improving to 15-14-1 with a 17-7 beating of Bethany on
Saturday. But that might not even be the biggest story,
because Cougar DH Austin Way is putting up numbers that are hard to
fathom.

Survive Scare Against Bethany
Facing Bethany on Friday, DH Austin Way slugged three home runs
in a game for the second time this week - and his Cougars held on to
win its fourth straight game. The slugfest, which was closer
than it should have been, ended 16-13 in favor of San Marcos.

Bests Point Loma to Extend Win Streak
One day after a hard fought win against San Diego Christian in front
of the home crowd, Cougar baseball went on the road and earned
another one against Point Loma by a score of 6-4.

Cardiac Cougars Come Back to Down SDCC
In the first night game in Cal State San Marcos baseball
history, the Cougars faced local rival San Diego Christian in front
of the largest crowd of the season. Under the lights at Escondido
High, that crowd watched an extremely well-played game – and went
home happy when the Cougars made a late comeback to win 6-5 in
walk-off fashion.

Bashes Principia 24-3
After nearly upsetting #2 Azusa Pacific on Friday, Cougar baseball
took out its frustrations on Principia College of Illinois, winning
. Austin Way led the barrage with 3 home runs and 8 RBI.

March 21 -- The Slipper
Nearly Fits: Baseball Comes Up Just Short Against #2 Azusa
Pacific
On a day in which #13 University of San Diego upset #4 University of
Connecticut in basketball, Cal State San Marcos baseball tried to
engage in a little March Madness of its own against #2 Azusa. And
for most of the game, it looked like the slipper might fit – with
Azusa just barely holding off a furious Cougar comeback. The game
ended in an 11-8 loss for CSUSM.

March 18 -- Master's Sweeps Cougar Baseball in
Tightly-Played Double-Header
To borrow a term from
March Madness, it was “heartbreak city” for Cougar baseball on
Tuesday, as Master’s completed the season sweep by winning both
halves of a double-header at Escondido High. Game one ended 10-7,
while a wild game two eventually ended 10-9 in extras.

Cougar Baseball Crushes La Sierra
Playing in their first game of the season at San Marcos High, Cougar
baseball took advantage of the friendly dimensions (for hitters) to
score 27 runs in Sunday’s double-header sweep of La Sierra. CSUSM
won a 16-1 laugher in game one, and coasted to an 11-6 win in game
two.

March 14 -- Baseball's Comeback Bid Falls
Short; Loses 11-8 to Chapman
Pitching and defense were in short supply at Chapman on Friday, as
the Cougars were on the wrong end of an 11-8 slugfest.
CSUSM’s five errors led to three unearned runs, which
proved to be the difference.

1-0 Loss for Baseball
In nine innings on Tuesday, Cal State San Marcos baseball
allowed just three hits, committed no errors, and got seven hits of
their own.
Given that, you’d assume the team cruised to a victory.
But the Cougars were snake bitten against Vanguard, missing
out on numerous opportunities en route to a brutal 1-0 loss.

March 7 -- Baseball Makes 9-Run Comeback, Earns
Wild Tie with Cal Lutheran
Today’s match-up with Cal Lutheran marked a couple firsts for Cal
State San Marcos baseball.
In the program’s two-year history, Friday’s game
was the first to end in a tie, as the Cougars and Kingsmen played to
an 11-11 draw in the nearly four-hour contest. It
also marked the largest comeback ever for Cal State San Marcos.

what was a tense, tightly-contested contest, the CSUSM baseball

in their first extra-innings game of the season.

Jason Hinton, Jared Suwyn, and Terry Moritz all tallied three

On the road against the #13 team in the nation, Cougar baseball

braved the elements to travel to #13 Cal Baptist, only to see their
late comeback come up just short.

Austin Way was 3-for-5, Jared Suwyn was 3-for-4,
and Cal State San Marcos baseball is now 2-for-2 against Point Loma

It was a successful home opener for Cougar baseball, as CSUSM
(2-4) split with perennially-tough Vanguard University (1-1). While
the Cougars fell 8-3 in game one, they rode an outstanding
performance by pitcher Steve Triolo to a 1-0 game two victory.

After Cougar Baseball’s big 9-2 win over Point Loma on Wednesday,
the squad fell by the same margin to Concordia on Friday, losing

Games in Season Opener
In what became the team’s opening day after a rainout earlier
in the week, Cougar baseball fought valiantly but fell to Master’s
in both games of Saturday’s double-header.
Master’s won game one 4-2 on the strength of four early
runs, and came back late to steal game two by a score of 3-2.
