CSUSM Announces Search for New Softball Coach
June 15, 2009

After two very successful seasons, Kelly Warren has stepped down as head coach of the Cal State San Marcos softball team.

CSUSM has officially begun the search for a replacement.

Warren, who compiled a record of 61-42 and led the Cougars to a pair of post-season appearances, is leaving to become a full-time mom.  She and husband Dave welcomed their second son in March.

“This has been a fantastic experience,” said Warren.  “I will really miss this team and department.  It was such a pleasure to work with such an outstanding group of people and talented group of athletes.”

Warren leaves a team that finished last season as the A.I.I. Conference Runner-Up, and ranked a school-best #18 nationally.  CSUSM softball will enter its fourth season of competition in the spring of 2010.
