Tyler Hurst Leads Men's Golf to 12th Place Finish at Bill Cullum Inv.

Competing in a field with 16 NCAA schools, Cal State San Marcos men's golf finished a very impressive 12th at the Bill Cullum Invitational on Wednesday.
Hosted by Cal State Northridge, the three-round tournament took place at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, CA. As a team, CSUSM posted round totals of 303, 291, and 296 for a final score of 890. The University of Pacific won the event with a record team score of 843.
Newcomer Tyler Hurst led the Cougars for the second time in as many tournaments this fall. The junior shot rounds of 74, 70, and 72 for a total of 216. He finished tied for 15th in the field of 96 golfers.
Next on the squad was freshman Adam Loran, who's 71 on Wednesday helped him tie for 29th with a total of 219.
Third was Marco Gomez, who tied for 41st with a 224. Also competing for the Cougars were Shezad Lakdawala (T72; 231) and Curtis Gruidl (95th; 244).
This was the final event of the Fall for Coach Fred Hanover's men's golf team, who will resume play in the spring.
