Baseball and Softball Home Opening Days Announced; Various Activities Planned

The wait is almost over for the inaugural CSUSM baseball and softball teams to begin play! Opening days for both programs have been announced, and all Cougar fans are invited to participate in the festivities and enjoy the games.

Baseball will play its home opener on Friday, February 2nd, at 2:00 PM against San Diego Christian. The game will take place at San Marcos High, which will be the site for all home baseball games this year. Parking will be available in the lot across the street from the field, on the corner of Discovery St. and San Marcos Blvd.

Softball will “swing” into its season with a double-header against Vanguard University on Saturday, February 10th, starting at noon. The games will be played at Mission Hills High, where all home softball games will take place this season. Fans can park in the school lot next to the field.

On both days, festivities will begin a half hour before game time. There will be giveaways to the first 100 fans that show up to each event, and catering will be done by Mr. Taco. Admission is free, so come out both days to participate in these historic events for CSUSM!
