No. 1Welcome to The Cougars Online! I want to personally welcome all of our student-athletes, faculty & staff, fans, and the San Marcos community to our new website. We are so excited to celebrate the onset of a new academic year and the launching of this new site.

This historic school year will provide a lot of “firsts” for CSUSM Athletics:

  1. Our Men's & Women's Soccer teams, Baseball team, and Softball team will take the field for the first time in school history.
  2. Our Cal State San Marcos university community will experience its first-ever home athletic competitions on campus.
  3. We will host a national championship event for the first time, when the best women golfers in the NAIA square off in May at Lake San Marcos Country Club.
  4. We recently unveiled our new spirit logos, which will add a new sense of school spirit and pride.
  5. This fall we will open our new DJO Sports Medicine room, equipped with two new athletic trainers.
  6. We have hired a Sports Information Director.
  7. Our Head Softball Coach will also serve as our Assistant Director of Athletics for Development to help with our department’s fundraising efforts.
  8. And of course, the launching of our new website to help keep our fans informed!

Fans, we truly appreciate your continued support and generosity. Student-athletes, keep up your hard work both in the classroom and on the field, and continue to make us proud. Coaches, best of luck to you and your teams!

I look forward to seeing you all at our events & competitions. GO COUGARS!

Sincerely,
Dr. Steve Nichols
