In the Cougar men’s golf
team’s first tournament action of the spring, three Cougars
competed at the SDSU Intercollegiate Classic on Thursday.
The one-day, two-round
tournament is hosted by SDSU, and featured local universities
competing on San Diego Country Club’s par-72 course.
USD won with a total score of +23 (599), with the Aztecs
finishing second at +26 (602).
Point Loma Nazarene and UCSD also competed.
For the Cougars, Kevin Riley led
the way, finishing in a tie for 18th.
Riley followed up a first-round 85 with an excellent
second-round 77, one of the best of the tournament.
He finished with a total of 162.
Also competing were Shezad Lakdawala (86, 88) and Kyle
Anderson (86, 89).
The
full Cougar men’s team will take the course at San Luis Rey Downs
on February 10th-12th for the Cal State San
Marcos Invitational.
