Box Score
It was a rough day in Biola for
CSUSM baseball, as the Cougars (3-6) were defeated 17-6 by the
hard-hitting Eagles (4-2).
The game got out of hand early, with Biola jumping
out to a 13-0 lead in the third inning. A huge nine-run third
inning rally was capped off with a two-RBI double by Chad Pace.
On the day, ten different Biola players tallied at least one RBI.
Most of the damage came through long rallies - Biola hit just one
home run on the day. The
Cougars' offense came late. Backup catcher Mike Pena was
2-for-3 with an RBI, first baseman Jared Suwyn continued his hot
hitting with a 2-for-4 day, and Louie Russo knocked a two-run homer
late to bring the score to 17-6.
For the Cougar pitching staff, the lone bright spots
were Auggie Richardson and Mike Raedel, each of which threw a
scoreless inning. CSUSM
baseball will look to bounce back on Thursday when they go on the
road to face Cal Baptist.
