Final Results
The Cougar women's golf team got
their spring off to a nice start, tying for 6th at the Lady
Braveheart Challenge. And Natalie Todd's CSUSM debut was
successful as well, resulting in an 8th place finish.
The two-round event was hosted by U.C. Riverside at
Oak Valley Golf Club's par-72, 6,089-yard course in Beaumont, CA.
Cal Poly won it with a team score of +53 (629), with San Diego State
just behind them. The Cougars tied for 7th with Portland
University at +82 (658) in the 16-team field.
Cal Poly's Stephanie Yocum shot 75-76 for a
tournament-winning total of +7 (151). But not far behind was
Natalie Todd. The highly-touted Cougar recruit shot 75-83 to
finish at +14 (158), tying for 8th and leading the team.
Senior Carly Ludwig had a nice tournament as well.
She tied for 17th with a score of +18 (162). Linnel de Villa
tied for 37th with a 167, and Ellyse Siu tied for 55th at 173.
Also competing were Kathryn Hansen (176) and Roxanne Mejia (181).
The women's golf team will be on familiar turf next
week, when they play at Lake San Marcos Country Club in the CSUSM
Invitational.
