In their final tune-up before Regionals, the Cal
State San Marcos women's golf team placed 7th at Tuesday's Matador
Invitational. Adriana Bormann led the way, tying for 21st.
It was a balanced performance for the squad, as all
five golfers finished between 21st and 37th in the 60-golfer
field. Playing two rounds on Tierra Rejada's par-72 course at
Moorpark, Bormann shot 81-80 for a total score of +17 (161).
Freshman star Natalie Todd was right behind her,
tying for 23rd with a 162. Her first round 79 was the lowest
of any Cougar; she shot 83 in the second round.
Senior Carly Ludwig shot 81-84 to tie for 31st;
Ellyse Siu tied for 37th, shooting 83-84; and Kathryn Hansen
followed up a first-round 87 with a strong second-round 80 to finish
the same as Siu.
Coach Fred Hanover's squad will spend the next couple
weeks preparing for Regionals, where they'll look to punch their
ticket to Nationals. |
