Cougar women's golf came home
from Tuesday's Regionals with some nice new hardware. The team
won the Regional Championship, its second straight; Carly Ludwig
cruised to the individual title; and Coach Fred Hanover was named
Coach of the Year. It was
a dominant performance for CSUSM. Ludwig shot 76-78 (154) on
the par-72 course to capture the title, while Adriana Bormann shot
83-81(164) to place second. Natalie Todd finished near the top
with a 166, and Ellyse Siu and Kate Hansen weren't far behind,
shooting 171 and 172, respectively. The
win gives the Cougar women plenty of momentum heading into
Nationals, which CSUSM will be hosting for the second straight year
at Lake San Marcos Country Club. Meanwhile,
men's golf will not be heading to Nationals after finishing 6th at
Regionals. Scott Conway led the Cougars by shooting 74-82-78
(234). The All-American will be competing at Nationals as an
individual.
