Full Results

Cal State San Marcos track & field is just a few weeks away from Nationals, and the squad continued to prepare this weekend, competing at the UCSD Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Kevin Ott Wright and Cory Dart continued to shine in the 400-meter hurdles, running 53.62 and 53.70 and finishing 5th and 6th, respectively.

Numerous other CSUSM athletes tallied numerous strong finishes during the two-day event.  Kyle Hughes finished second in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, running 9:37.  Jessica Sandoval ran 10:29.45 in the women's 3,000-meter run, good for fifth place.  Anthony Guadagnini finished 5th in the 800-meter run, timing in at 1:54.  Ashleigh Davis just missed the top-5, but was great as usual, timing it at 14.55 in the 100-meter hurdles.  Billy Walker ran a blistering 10.76 in the 100-meter dash, just .03 seconds off his own school record and good for seventh place.  Nick Stein took 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.41.  And Aaron Parker completed the 110-meter hurdles in 15.49, good for 11th place.

The relay teams also performed well, with the men's 4x100 taking second with a time of 42.07, the men's 4x400 also finishing second with a time of 3:19, and the women's 4x400 finishing third at 4:01.

Track and Field will be competing at the tastefully-named Steve Scott Invitational next week at U.C. Irvine, Coach Scott's alma mater.
