CSUSM in Third Place with One Round Left in Women’s Golf National Championships

The Cougar women’s golf team moved up one spot after day three of the National Championships, and now occupy third place.

CSUSM, who shot 314 as a team on Thursday, are very much in striking distance of leader Embry Riddle.  The Cougars’ three-round total of 951 puts them a mere 10 shots back of Embry Riddle, and 9 back of Oklahoma City.

After shooting 90 and 85 on days 1 and 2, Kate Hansen shot an incredible 74 on Thursday.  It’s the best round of any Cougar so far, and tied for the best round of anyone in the field on the day.  Hansen is now [place] with a score of +33 (249).

Carly Ludwig still leads the team, battling through the tough conditions to shoot 81 on Wednesday.  Her total score of +18 (234) is good for [place] place.

Natalie Todd continued her strong championship debut, shooting 80 on Wednesday to give her a total of +22 (238) through three rounds.  She’s currently tied for [place] place.

Adriana Bormann is tied for [place], after Wednesday’s 83 brought her total score to +28 (244).  And Ellyse Siu bounced back from a second-round 90 to shoot 79 today, tying her with Hansen with a total of +33 (249).

CSUSM will look to capture its first-ever national championship tomorrow, the final day of competition.
