Juan Mejia WINS the Marathon! |

Senior distance runner Juan Mejia became the second athlete in the history of Cal State San Marcos to win a national championship, winning the marathon on the final day of the 2008 Track & Field National Championships. In his final performance in Cougar blue, Mejia timed in at a blistering 2:27.44, more than two minutes ahead of his closest competitor. His win is the first by a Cougar since Cara Rumble won the women's marathon in 2002. Teammate Leo Elorza finished 22nd in the event, running 2:42.20. Mejia is the fourth Cougar athlete to earn All-American status this year, joining Sergio Gonzalez, Morgan Sjogren, and Ashleigh Davis.
