Steve Scott Inducted Into
Breitbard Hall of Fame |

Union Tribune Article North County Times Article Steve Scott has been inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions’ Breitbard Hall of Fame. A three-time Olympian, Scott is the world record holder for most sub-four minute miles. He also held the American mile record for 25 years before it was broken in July of this year, and is a member of the National Track & Field Hall of Fame. As the head coach of the track & field and cross-country teams at Cal State San Marcos, Scott has built the programs into perennial contenders in the NAIA, coaching over 35 All-Americans in his decade-long tenure at the University. Steve Scott is joined by soccer star Shannon McMillan, NHL player Willie O’Ree, and basketball coach Pete Newell as the Breitbard Hall of Fame’s Class of 2008.
