your running shoes on!
Cal State San Marcos Athletics invites you to celebrate the end of
another academic year by running in the first ever Diploma Dash 5k.
The race, which features a 5-kilometer course that winds around and
through the University’s scenic campus, will take place on Saturday,
May 3rd, 2008, at 5:00 PM. Entry is open to everyone – students,
faculty, staff, and community members – and all proceeds will go
towards providing CSUSM student-athletes with scholarships.
The night-time race will feature bar-code timing, awards for each age
group, and a party atmosphere. Runners (or walkers!) will start at
University Circle, at the end of Craven Drive, and finish on Mangrum
Track & Soccer Field, where they’ll take part in a post-race expo
that offers live music, free food and product samples, and a chance
to meet student-athletes and coaches. All participants will also get
a free race T-shirt.
Online registration is open now, and can be accessed by clicking on
the race logo at www.csusm.edu/athletics. Registration is done
through Active.com, and costs $25. The race will be limited to 300
participants, so sign up early!
This event is a great opportunity to show pride in your University,
celebrate the semester’s end, and support your student-athletes. We
