Well it's another beautiful day in sunny Southern Calif....what!??!?!

We're coming to you live (not really) from the FINAL day of the Women's Golf National Championships!  Currently we're hiding under canopy, because the weather is, uh, a little wet.

By far, the heating lamp was the most popular place on the golf course.

For the last three days, our team's goal has been to win.  Today's goal?  Survival.

There's Coach Fred Hanover, trying to will the rain into stopping.  It did not work.

I've spent ten minutes trying to describe the general mood of the golf course.  This is the best word I could come up with:  Apocalyptic.

From the tent, I saw an empty golf cart I could run to and hide in.  Here's the exact transcript from my run over to it:  "AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Alright, braving the elements to bring you the final CSUSM roll call of the tournament!  That's Kate Hansen.

She somehow knocks her drive onto the fairway.

Thanks to being in third place, the Cougar golfers are playing in groups with the top two teams:  The Embry Riddle Eagles and the three-time defending champion Oklahoma City Yankee Darth Vaders.  Here's an Oklahoma City golfer teeing off.

There's Ellyse Siu, hitting her drive right down the middle.

I've taken to the bushes to escape the rain.  I feel like Bear Grills.  I am now Survivorman.

Of course, the Amstel Light tent is still alive and kicking.

Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, this tournament official was eaten by his umbrella.

Back to the roll call:  Adriana Bormann, ladies and gentlemen!

Natalie Todd puts a beautiful swing on the ball.  We've got a little break from the rain, so we're going to follow her for hole 1.

So much for the break from the rain.

Natalie manages to pitch onto the green.  Or near the green.  I can't really tell.

Hey, it's CSUSM Athletics Director Dr. Steve Nichols!  A real celebrity here on the course.  He tells me that there's a weather radar in the pro shop, but it turned out to just be the weather channel.  We both agree, however, that had there been a radar, it would've just said in bright flashing red letters:  "IT'S RAINING HARD"

You can't tell, but that's Carly Ludwig.

That's Ashley Sholer, a former individual tournament champion from Oklahoma City.  If it wasn't the apocalypse out here, I'd enjoy following their group.

Carly knocks her approach onto the green.

The two golfers Carly's playing with nailed birdie putts.

Here's Carly, putting for her birdie.

She'd get it within about 4 feet, and sink the par putt.  I'm telling you, if I ever par'd a golf hole during a hurricane, it would be the highlight of my life.

Surprisingly large crowd headed to hole 2.  Dr. Steve and I debate whether we should follow them, and eventually decide to plow forward.

There's Carly teeing off on two.

Looks like a good shot.

And we're back at the clubhouse!  What a fast round, eh?  Ok, fine, we decided to bail early.  I told Fred I was going to get pneumonia from being out here.  He told me that's not how pneumonia works.  I don't care, I'm going to get some hot chocolate.  Thanks for reading and go Cougars!!
