Full Results

Men's golf finished in 6th place in its first tournament of the fall, finishing up its third round of competition at the Coast BMW College Challenge on Tuesday.

Playing on the par-71, 6,274 yard course at Monarch Dunes in Nipomo, the new-look Cougar squad got its first taste of tournament action.  Curtis Gruidl led the way, tying for 28th by shooting very solid rounds of 77, 76, and 79 for a total score of 232.

Next on the team was veteran Brandon Gandy, who finished 31st, just two shots behind Gruidl.  Gandy improved each round, starting off with an 80, then a 78, and finally a nice third-round 76.

Rounding out the team were Chris Alderete, Shezad Lakdawala, and Robert Nicanor.  Alderete shot 243 to tie for 38th; Lakdawala shot 245 to take 40th, and Nicanor shot 247 to take 41st.

The men are next scheduled to play at Silver Creek Valley Golf Course in San Jose from the 19th to the 21st.
