CSUSM women's golf finished out play at the Aztec Fall
Classic with a strong team round on Tuesday, finishing 7th overall
at the tournament, just one shot behind Idaho State.

Competing in a field with six NCAA teams, Cal State San Marcos sits in 7th place after round one at the Aztec Fall Classic.
Despite the stifling Arizona heat and a short-handed roster, the Cougar women's golf team got its season off to a great start this week at the Grand Canyon Invitational.

The Cougar women's golf fall season starts today, as the squad is set to play in the first round of the Grand Canyon Invitational at Monarch Dunes Golf Course in Avondale, AZ. Results will be posted on this site.

All-Americans! The sophomore duo led the CSUSM women's golf team all
season, culminating in the 10th-place finish at last week's Nationals.

May 15 - Women's Golf Earns 10th Straight Top-10 Finish at Nationals
Cougar
women's golf finished up its season on Friday, taking 10th place at the
NAIA National Championships. Sophomores Roxanne Mejia and Linnel de
Villa led the way, finishing tied for 21st and 26th, respectively.

Day
One Update: Linnel de Villa shoots a strong +5 (77), leading the
Cougars to a solid opening round of 321. CSUSM is currently tied for
9th.
Day Two Update: CSUSM moves up to a tie for 7th on the
strenght of a second-round 333 in very difficult conditions. Linnel de
Villa once again was the team's top performer, shooting an 81. She's
tied for 14th halfway through the championship.
Day Three
Update: The Cougars continue to move up, and now are in sixth heading
into the tournament's final day. Roxanne Mejia shot an awesome round
of +2 (74) and is currently tied for 15th in the field, while Linnel de
Villa is just one shot behind and tied for 19th.
Day Four Update: CSUSM finishes 10th overall after a final day marked
by 50-degree weather and 30 mph winds. Full press release will be
available when final results are available.

April 1 -- DeVilla, Mejia Lead Women's Golf to Strong Finish at Anteater Invitational
Competing in a field of NCAA schools on a very difficult course, the
#9-ranked Cal State San Marcos women's golf team placed a very solid
12th at the Anteater Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine at Santa Ana
Country Club.

March 16 -- Women's Golf Takes 13th at Hiddenbrooke Intercollegiate
Cougar
women's golf continued its season on Monday, finishing up play at the
Hiddenbrooke Intercollegiate. The Cougars took 13th place as a team,
with Stephanie Cole leading the way by finishing tied for 22nd.

The first round of the women's golf CSU San Marcos Invitational, hosted by CSUSM at Lake San Marcos Country Club, has been washed out. Play will resume tomorrow at 7:30 AM.
February 10 -- Women's Golf Places 11th at Rain-Shortened Lady Braveheart Classic
Cougar women's golf competed in its first
event of the spring on Tuesday, placing 11th at the Lady Braveheart
Classic. Linnel De Villa finished tied for 14th to lead the Cougars.

February 9 -- Monday Weather Update
Baseball Update: The baseball home game today between CSUSM and San Diego Christian has been RAINED OUT. No reschedule date has been set.
Men's Golf Update: Round one of the Cougar Invitational was rained out, but round two is schedule to begin at 11:00 AM at San Luis Rey Downs.
Women's Golf Update: Round one of the Riverside Invitatonal is currently delayed.
October 14 -- Linnel De Villa Ties for Second, Roxanne Mejia Ties for Fifth at Aztec Invitational
A pair of outstanding individual performances highlighted the Aztec Fall Classic for Cal State San Marcos women’s golf, as Cougars Linnel De Villa and Roxanne Mejia both notched top-5 finishes, while the team as a whole finished fifth.

Competing in their first tournament since last spring's school-record third place finish at Nationals, the rebuilt Cougar women's golf team performed well, placing 7th at the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational. Sophomore Roxanne Mejia led the way by tying for 14th.

Competing in their first tournament of the Fall season, Coach Fred Hanover's Cougar Women's Golf team sits in 7th place after day one of the Grand Canyon Invitational. Roxanne Mejia is leading CSUSM, currently sitting in the top-10 overall, and newcomer Stephanie Cole had a very good debut.
"I'm pleased with where we are," noted Hanover. "We are only going to get better."
