Cougar women's soccer turned in an outstanding effort on Monday, going on the road to defeat University of La Verne 3-0.

September 22 -- Women's Soccer Plays Concordia to 1-1 Tie
Playing in front of a large crowd at home on Wednesday, Cougar women's soccer and Concordia fought hard through two overtimes to a 1-1 tie.
September 19 -- Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Fresno Pacific

A 50th-minute goal by Fresno Pacific's Demi Hamilton proved to be the difference in Saturday's women's soccer team, as the home team held on to defeat CSUSM 1-0.

August 27 -- Women's Soccer Sneaks Out Win in Opener

It wasn't pretty, but Cougar women's soccer pulled out a 2-1 victory over #25 Madonna University on Thursday night in front of a packed house at Mangrum Field.  Playing in her first game as a Cougar, freshman Kristin Poggioli knocked in the game winner with 5 minutes left on the block.

Cal State San Marcos women's soccer maintained it's season-ending #10 ranking in Wednesday's first national poll.  The Cougars made it to the second round of the National Championships last season, and open their 2009 season at home against #25-ranked Madonna University from Michigan.

Enthusiastic about today's events, we arose early and had a buffet breakfast waiting for us at 8:00 a.m. this morning. The women's well earned victory yesterday equated to a light yet engaging training session, while the men prepared to play the Azerbaijan U-17 National Team.

On our sixth day in Germany, we were all becoming infatuated with the country. The landscape, the beauty, and the lifestyle used to seem so surreal but have become encompassed in our every day lives for the past week.

July 19 -- Women's Soccer Defeates FC Nuremburg 3-0  

Congratulations to the Cougar women's soccer team for defeating FC Nuremburg 3-0 on Sunday!  It was the first game the women's team played on Cougar soccer's 11-day trip to Germany.  Lauren Johnson and Clarissa Hidalgo tallied the goals, and CSUSM's trademark swarming defense stifled Nuremburg's offense. 

On the men's side, Cougar men's soccer lost their first game on Saturday.

The women had a short training session this morning, since they would play a game later this evening in hope of a victory, while the men got the day off after a tough loss yesterday. After a delicious breakfast, the day of traveling got underway very early with the bus arriving at the hotel at 10:30 a.m.

Today turned out to be a bit gloomier than the past few days have been. It began raining early last night and did not let up the rest of the day. Unfortunately that did put a dent in the plans we had arranged, but at the same time it did allow some of us to catch up on some much needed sleep and relaxation from the jetlag and traveling.

Following multiple security checks, a 10 hour flight to Paris, France, a 5 hour lay over that felt like 20, and a 2 hour connecting flight to Munich, Germany, the CSUSM Men's and Women's soccer teams finally arrived at their destination!

Next Wednesday, Head Coach Ron Pulvers and his men’s and women’s soccer teams will arrive in Munich, and over the following eleven days they’ll see the sights, take in the culture, and of course play plenty of soccer.
