After struggling in the program's first season, the Cougar
women's soccer team, with an infusion of new players and new
attitude, surpassed everyone's expectations and made 2007 a season

2-1 to #1 Azusa
Cal State San Marcos’ women’s soccer season was ended in the
Regional Semifinals on Friday, as the team lost 2-1 in overtime to
Azusa Pacific.

Two Goals Spark Playoff Upset over Concordia
In
what is unquestionably the biggest win in program history, #6-seeded
Cal State San Marcos toppled #3-seeded Concordia on Wednesday.
The 2-1 victory propels the Cougars into the second round of
the NAIA’s Region II Playoffs.

Marcos, Coach Ron Pulvers' squad is headed to the regional playoffs,
it was announced Sunday.

Oct 21 -- Women's Soccer Plays to Hard-Fought
Tie; Men Lose 2-0 to Close Out Season
With their respective seasons coming to a close, the Cougar
soccer teams put forth good efforts at Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday.
The women played another excellent game, earning a 1-1 tie with
Pomona's tough squad; and while the men lost 2-0 to finish out their
2007 season, they went out with a spirited effort.

Oct 19 -- Women's Soccer Settles for Tie at San
Bernardino; Men Lose
It was a disappointing Friday for Cougar
soccer, as both teams traveled to San Bernardino to take on the
Coyotes. The women came
away with a 3-3 tie, while the men’s two-game win streak was ended
with a 3-1 loss.

Oct 12 -- Cougar Soccer Comes Away with Pair of
Wins at Chapman
Friday was a good night for Coach Ron Pulvers’ soccer program, as
both the men’s and women’s team came away with big wins at
Chapman College. The
men kept their hopes for a .500 season alive with a convincing 3-0
victory, while the women boosted their playoff chances with a 1-0
win.

Oct 10 -- Women's Soccer Coasts to 2-0 Victory
on Krauss' Goals
The Cougar Women’s Soccer Team got a much-needed victory on
Wednesday, winning easily over La Sierra by a score of 2-0.

with Cal Lutheran
The Cougar women’s soccer team’s playoff hopes took a bit of a
hit on Sunday, as the team played to a disappointing 1-1 tie with
Cal Lutheran.

The Cougar women came out playing hard on Monday, but couldn't
break through against CSUDH, losing 3-0. CSUSM is 3-5-1 on the
year, but still has its sights on the playoffs.

Cougar Women Post Impressive 4-0 Win
The Cougar women's soccer team traveled to Biola on Thursday,
and came away with a dominating 4-0 victory. After losing to
#4 Point Loma on Tuesday, Thursday's win brings them back to
within 1 game of .500 (4-5-1).

Loma
Coming in to Point Loma on their longest win streak of the
season, the Cougar women’s soccer team couldn’t keep their momentum
going on Tuesday, falling 2-0.

Soccer Travels to Master’s College; Women Come Away with Big 4-1
Win
After playing well for the first half of
the season but not getting the results, it appears that the Cougar
women’s soccer team appears to have turned the corner.
On Saturday, the squad earned a convincing 4-1 win over
Master’s College.
Meanwhile, the Cougar men failed to
capitalize on the momentum from Thursday’s win, falling 5-2.

Streak; Beats Cal Baptist 1-0
Despite not playing their best soccer on Thursday, the Cougar
women are back on the winning track with a 1-0 victory over Cal
Baptist. The home crowd might have given the Cougars just
enough energy to hold on to the lead and secure the win.

days, the Cougar women’s soccer team fell 4-1 to Concordia on
Saturday.

Sept 7 -- Cougar Soccer Plays Hard Against
Azusa, but Falls in Both Games
On Friday, the Cougar men’s and women’s soccer squads
traveled up to Azusa to play highly-ranked Azusa Pacific. While
CSUSM put up a good fight in both games, neither of them ended in
CSUSM’s favor, with the men losing to #5 Azusa 4-2 and the women
losing just 1-0 to the #1 ranked team in the nation.

It was a rough night in Los Angeles for the CSUSM men’s and
women’s soccer teams, as both squads lost their games against Cal
State University Los Angeles. The women lost 2-1, while the
men fell 5-1.

Saturday, the Cougar women continued to play good intense soccer,
but ultimately fell to Dixie State 2-0.

Lake City
On Thursday, the Cougar men’s and women’s soccer teams packed up and
headed to Salt Lake City to play two games each, the first
out-of-state contests in the CSUSM Soccer’s short history. On
Friday, with one game down for each team, the results are mixed.

Despite some rough patches, the Cougar women's soccer team
finished its inaugural season with plenty of momentum, and hopes to
carry that into 2007. Coach Ron Pulvers has made plenty of
changes, both on and off the field, that he hopes will push this
squad over the top.
