Examples - here are a couple of collaboration examples:

Collaboration Title:              Property Management

Customers Involved:
Lusardi Construction (Property Owner for the Ranch) & Cal State San Marcos.

Purpose:  Good communications between the property owner and off campus tenants. Risk Mgmt acts as the liaison between the Ranch tenants and Lusardi.
Note: This collaboration will end on 6/30/04 due to termination of lease.

Collaboration Benefits:
1) Ranch: Expedites service response times.
2) Lusardi: Reduces trips to the Ranch.

Projected Financial Savings and Time Period:
Early reporting to the property management company reduces unnecessary expenses which add to an increase in Common Area Maintenance charges for the University.

Collaboration Title:              "Get The Heck Out Of Beiri"

Customers Involved:
P&SS, VPFAS, Library (David), Facilities (Chuck & Ellen)

Purpose:
Strategically plan and manage resources.

Scope Details:
Cost savings helped division to meet its Grand Slam goal of $100K. Police Dept no longer has to patrol this separate site. We were able to reuse tablet chairs so dept did not have to purchase new ones. The space that we vacated was desperately needed by a machine shop

Collaboration Benefits:
Saves approximately $20,000/year through 2007.
Additional cost savings realized since furniture was found that could be reused on campus e.g. tablet chairs and it enabled us to dispose of furniture/equipment with no value.

Projected Financial Savings and Time Period:
Approx. $20,000/year through 2007 = total savings $140,000
