College of Business Administration (CoBA) Liaison
My role at Cal State San Marcos
As director of the Career Center and liaison to the College of Business Administration, I work with a truly professional team to serve the career development needs of currently enrolled students and members of the Alumni Association. Our goal is for students and alumni to attain personal success through lifelong career development in a global society.
My career path
My degrees are from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign: BFA in Painting and MEd in Counseling Psychology. Almost of all my work experience has been in higher education in either academic advising or career counseling. I have had the pleasure of working at three outstanding universities in different regions of the US: UIUC, Bentley University and Cal State San Marcos. I currently serve on the boards of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Chapter of the Association for Psychological Type. I am also an active member of the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers.
The rewards in doing what I do
It is so rewarding to help students find what they are passionate about, create professional resumes, hone their interview skills and be prepared for professional employment opportunities upon graduation.
When I get a note from a student telling me that I helped get them to that next goal, it makes my day.
My words of wisdom to students
Get involved on campus or in your community, work hard, have fun and be open to change. You will develop transferable skills employers value.
In my free time
My husband and I love to travel; we have been to all fifty states. I enjoying making elaborate greeting cards, gardening, hosting dinner parties and going to the movies.
