RESOLUTION ON CFA'S PARTICIPATION IN U. S. LABOR AGAINST WAR

Passed unanimously at CFA Board of Directors Meeting, June 18, 2005

WHEREAS, USLAW is a coalition of over 100 labor organizations dedicated to ending the war with and occupation of Iraq and reordering U. S. federal spending priorities to fund human and social needs over war
and militarization;

WHEREAS, USLAW has developed an ambitious plan of action which includes member education, close alliance with veterans and military families groups, solidarity with the labor movement in Iraq, and efforts to move the foreign policy debate within the AFL-CIO in a progressive direction;

THEREFORE, be it resolved that:

1) The California Faculty Association continue its affiliation with USLAW; and,

2) The Committee on Peace and Justice be authorized to participate with USLAW in organizing a West Coast Conference of Educators Against War.
