Introduction

Dr. Kevin Hee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting. He received his B.S. in Commerce (concentrated in Finance and Marketing) and M.S. in Accountancy (MSA) from the University of Virginia. Dr. Hee worked as a tax consultant in public accounting in San Francisco for five years with Arthur Anderson, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. He received his PhD in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dr. Hee joined CSU San Marcos in 2015. Before coming to CSUSM, Kevin taught for six years at the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy at SDSU. He taught a variety of accounting courses at the undergraduate level including Introduction to Financial Accounting and Intermediate Accounting I. Dr. Hee also taught Financial Accounting Research and the capstone course for the MSA program at SDSU. In addition, Dr. Hee was the faculty advisor for the Bachelors and Masters in Accountancy 4+1 (BMACC) program that allowed undergraduate accounting students to concurrently earn both a B.S. and MSA degree.

His research areas currently focus on audit quality and audit fees and factors that drive future accounting-related litigation. However, he has also published articles on earnings quality and earnings management.
