CoBA Community Highlights

Maia Farkas, Ph.D.

At the beginning of this year CoBA had the pleasure of welcoming a new member of the faculty, Dr. Maia Farkas. As a part of the Accounting Department at CSUSM, Dr. Farkas balances her time being both a professor, researcher, and advisor to the student-run Accounting Society. The Accounting Society hosts events that invite local accounting professionalsto campus to answer an array of questions from students. In addition to gaining access to professionals who provide prospective on their career field, Dr. Farkas explains that students who are a part of the Accounting Society gain experience, recommendations, and a chance to polish their soft skills which will make them great candidates for the Accounting world that awaits them. Currently residing in Oceanside, Dr. Farkas spends her leisure time in the outdoors whether it be walking down the beach with her husband or spending time hiking. Dr. Farkas enjoys the CoBA community where she has quickly bonded with both faculty and a diverse group of students. CoBA is glad to have her as a part of our faculty.
