Competition Details
This competition is open to all currently registered high school and college students.
Your Quick Pitch will be evaluated by a panel of judges for content and presentation quality. You may bring samples and/or illustrations.
Once introduced, you will have a maximum of 2-minutes to complete your pitch. There will be a visual timer to help you keep track (green/yellow/red light).
Your Quick Pitch should start off with a statement or question that piques the interest of the audience enough to want to hear more. It’s not a "sales" pitch, but should evoke interest in the listener. It should end with a call to action. Everything in-between should communicate passion for your business endeavor. Write out your elevator pitch and practice it over and over and over. Make sure it flows well. Try it on family and friends. Get their feedback.
Essential questions to address in your 2-minute Quick Pitch:
- What is your product or service? Be clear and concise, not too detailed. What customer problem or “pain” do you solve?
- What is your market? Who you are selling the product or service to, in what industry, how large is your market, and is it growing or shrinking?
- How will you make money?
- What is your competition? If you think you don't have any, think again! Competition is a good thing, it validates your market.
- What is your competitive advantage? What is your USP (unique selling proposition) and UVP (unique value proposition)?
