Introduction
Dr. Palash Deb is an Assistant Professor of Management at CSUSM. He received his PhD in Strategic Management from Syracuse University in 2011. His dissertation focused on the implications of governance and signaling mechanisms at Initial Public Offerings. Dr. Deb’s research has been presented at the Academy of Management annual meetings in Chicago, Montreal and San Antonio, and is currently under review in different journals. He is also co-authoring a peer-reviewed book chapter to be published by Oxford University Press in 2013, and is an ad hoc reviewer for Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Business Research and the Academy of Management. Before commencing his doctoral studies, Dr. Deb received an MBA in Finance from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a Masters in Accounting from Calcutta University. He has also worked for ten years in India with companies like GE Capital (as an actuarial analyst), HSBC (as an equity researcher), and Accenture (as a finance consultant).
