The Senior Experience Program matches consulting teams of students with projects submitted by local businesses and organizations. Students gain by working as consultants on rigorous, real-world projects that require teamwork and application of classroom knowledge. Businesses gain by receiving concentrated attention from bright, energetic teams that provide a fresh, independent look at their projects. Each student team works under the supervision of a faculty member.
To date, over 1,300 projects have been completed for over 1,000 local businesses and organizations. The nature of the problems or projects chosen for the Senior Experience will vary according to the organization.
Working with a team of students is also an excellent and inexpensive way to find prospective employees. Nationally, roughly 60% of such students offered a full-time position accept. And, the one year retention rate is 76%, higher than the 61% retention rate of students who have not completed such a program.
