The Business Professional Development Program Scholarships were generously sponsored by the Hersh Family

Recipients met the following requirements:

  • GPA of 2.75 or above
  • Maintained full-time enrollment (at least 12 units each semester) in both the fall  and spring semesters and will continued to be enrolled full-time if awarded the scholarship
  • Declared Pre-Business status or Business status at time of application
  • Demonstrated success in completing the BPD program working with an assigned Executive in Residence as defined by the program guidelines; EIR recommendation was required
  • Completed the following BPD assignments:
    • Attended required workshops
    • Submitted an Individual Development Plan
    • Submitted a Personal Career Development Contract
    • Completed and submitted the Assessments (TypeFocus, Skills, Passions)
    • Submitted a Resume/Cover Letter
    • Attended an Etiquette Dinner
    • Completed a Mock Interview
    • Completed the Pre-Career Plan Survey and Post-Career Plan Survey

In addition to having completed the BPD program successfully in conjunction with their assigned EIR, students  completed an online application and submitted the following items for the selection comittee:

  • Resume
  • Professional Photo
  • Individual Development Plan
  • Unofficial Transcript 
  • Essay detailing the following:
    • Describe how your career goals have developed, changed, or shifted during the BPD program year. How have you been able to apply what you have learned in the BPD program thus far, and how will you continue to develop and refine your professional and career development skills throughout the remainder of your time as a student at CSUSM?
