Parking/Transportation

Traffic: Tune in to San Marcos Radio AM 1610 for traffic updates.

California State University San Marcos is located in the heart of San Marcos and can be accessed from interstate 78. Main access to the campus is from State Highway 78 at Twin Oaks Valley Road.  Take Twin Oaks Valley Road South for approximately a half mile.  You will be at the campus, please follow road signage to the nearest available parking.

However, if you wish to avoid traffic there are a number of alternate routes that should get you to campus faster.
If you are driving westbound on Highway 78 from Interstate 15,
Take exit 14 toward Woodland Parkway/Barham Dr
As you exit, continue to the right.
Take the next RIGHT (South) onto Woodland Parkway
Turn RIGHT (West) onto Barham Dr
The campus is approximately 1 mile on the left

If you are coming from Interstate 5 merge onto the Eastbound 78.
Take exit 12 for San Marcos Blvd.
Turn right onto San Marcos Blvd for .3 miles to Bent Ave
Make a left onto Bent Ave
Bent Ave turns into Craven Road.  Follow Craven Road 1.3 miles to the campus.

If a guests drops off a graduate from the Barham entrance and tries to continue down Campus View Drive they will be unable to get to parking Lot B & C and will be forced to park and walk from Parking Lot E or farther. 

Parking on Campus

Parking fees: Parking for all of the Commencement Ceremonies will be complimentary

Parking lots will open two hours prior to the scheduled start time of each ceremony. Parking for guests will be available in lots: B, C, X, Y and Z.  Graduate parking will be available in Parking Structure 1, and lot N. Parking in all lots will be on a first come first serve basis. Event signage will be available to direct guests to the Event Site (Mangrum Track and Field).
