A Few Important Items for Faculty:
All Faculty participating in the Commencement ceremonies must arrive one hour prior to the ceremony start time for line-up. Please refer to the 2015 Commencement Schedule for a list of majors and times.
The Faculty will march in the processional behind the students and before the Platform Party. Please check-in at the Faculty Table located in the Clarke Field House. The Faculty will assemble on the terrace; students will assemble and line-up on the right side of the Clarke Field House then proceed down the pathway toward the Mangrum Track & Field. Staff at the Faculty Table will be available to assist Faculty.
The Platform Party will exit the stage and ceremony site first, followed by the Faculty. However, rather than exiting the ceremony site entirely, the Faculty will exit the graduate seating area and form a double line immediately beyond it, along the recessional route, so that Faculty may greet students and offer congratulations as the students exit the ceremony site. The Faculty Marshals will assist in creating this "congratulatory line." The Students will continue the recessional to the meet and greet area.
You may rent academic regalia (cap, gown, hood, tassel) from the University Store. If you have not yet made rental arrangements, please contact the University Store as soon as possible (x4730).
Light refreshments during breaks will be provided for faculty and staff participating in the ceremonies. There is an optional lunch for volunteers on both days. Lunch will be served in the Clarke Field House Grand Salon for the faculty members, and Commencement staff participating in Friday and Saturday ceremonies. Don't forget to sign up for lunch on the Faculty/Staff Sign-Up form in order to be included in our catering count.
A Few Important Items for Staff:
All Staff will arrive 2 hours prior to ceremony start time and check in with their staff area supervisor. Please make sure you make proper arrangements to allow for travel time and possible traffic delays.
Staff members working the 2014 Commencement Ceremonies will be given pre-assigned duties for each day. Assignments will be handed out at the staff information sessions (Dates TBD). Assignments may include graduate check-in, graduate line up, or the distribution of programs and information. Please plan on attending one of the information sessions.
Hours for the 2015 Commencement Ceremonies have not yet been determined.
Please note that end times are approximate times. Shifts will end when ceremonies conclude.
Commencement polo shirt with dress slacks or khakis (NO JEANS) with comfortable shoes. You may want to bring your own bottle of water, a hat, etc. Please don't forget your sunscreen!
