The menu bar is common to all applications on the Mac.
The apple menu contains various settings, information, and controls for the Mac itself.
Most importantly, the apple menu is the location for the log out, restart, and shut down commands.
The options next to the apple menu changes depending on which application is open. Not only does this menu let you know which program you are currently using, but it will allow you to quit the program as well as give other information specific to the program.
The other menus will change depending on the program, but take a second to see what each menu holds.
- The file menu in the finder allows for such things as new folders,
- while the edit menu allows one to copy and paste files in new locations.
- The view menu enables the ability to arrange icons cleanly.
- The go menu can be used to quickly view common folders in the computer.
Most frequently this menu would be used to go to the applications folder. - The window menu deals with the windows currently open and the help menu supplies help.
