Tribal Communities Initiatives Task Force
President Haynes appointed a new Tribal Task Force for the 2012/2013 Academic Year to work to ensure that the ongoing engagement with tribal communities is a cross-institutional initiative, one that brings many voices to the table and encourages the participation of students, faculty, staff, and administrators, so that all perspectives can be shared. Members of this task force bring together their respective experiences, expertise, and talents to identify strategies, systems, activities, partnerships, etc, that will help CSUSM institutionalize our tribal initiative and become the national model for it. More specifically, the TTF may:
- Work in support of campus outreach, recruitment and retention of American Indian students;
- Promote and support any number of annual tribal initiative events, such as California Indian Days, the Tribal Education Summit, Native Heritage Month, the Presidents Report to Tribal Nations, and the American Indian Honoring Ceremony;
- Identify new activities in support of the tribal communities initiative;
