 Internship Program Admissions

The Psychology Internship Program at Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) at California State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) currently offers 3 internship slots for students enrolled in APA or CPA-Accredited doctoral programs in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.  It is our expectation that interns come prepared with the requisite counseling skills commensurate with a doctoral level candidate starting in a doctoral internship program.  SHCS bases its selection process on a holistic review of the potential intern’s application, including the AAPI, cover letter, CV, standardized reference forms, graduate transcripts, writing sample, and an interview (if offered after review of submitted required application materials). Applicants must have a minimum of 450 intervention hours.  Applicants with experience with assessment are preferred.  In addition, SHCS prefers applicants who have some experience with and demonstrate appreciation for diversity and working with the college student population.

Does the program require that applicants have received a minimum number of hours of the following at time of application? If Yes, indicate how many:

Total Direct Contact Intervention Hours                  N            Y             Amount: 450
