Excursions As you probably know, the San Diego area is an exceptionally enjoyable and exciting location for a variety of outdoor activities. The conference schedule will include a free afternoon and evening to enable participants to take advantage of some of the available opportunities. Participants may wish to schedule additional time before and after the conference to enjoy the location. Friday Excursions: We have booked buses for tours and outings for Friday afternoon and evening. Buses will depart from the CSUSM campus approximately 1:15 (you may wish to purchase a box lunch to eat on board) and will return around 10:00 p.m. We have organized two excursions for you to choose from. We hope to offer both depending on sufficient participation. We will need a minimum of approximately 30 participants per excursion to cover the bus costs. As of today (July 10), we do not have this number. We may have to cancel the excursions if we do not get sufficient registrants. If you wish to participate, please register now. The cost of the bus fare is $25 per person. Participants will be responsible for the cost of admissions and additional activities, as well as a tip for the bus driver. 1. North San Diego County: This excursion will take participants to the San Diego Wild Animal Park for the afternoon. The Wild Animal Park is a subsidiary of the famous San Diego Zoo, in which animals live in a large, natural setting. Then, participants will go to downtown Escondido, where on summer Friday nights Grand Avenue becomes an "American Graffiti" scene with an array of classic custom cars and hot rods. Grand Avenue also boasts a wide array of restaurants, ranging from gourmet French cuisine to Mexican fast food and everything in between. Click on the links below for further information:
2. San Diego: This excursion will take participants to a variety of venues in the City of San Diego during the afternoon, depending on participants' interest, and then downtown to the either harbor or the Gaslamp district for dinner.
