The Reading Partners Program complements classroom teachers reading
curriculum by providing individualized reading sessions with high-quality books.
Books are selected according to the students’ interests and reading abilities.
- Host schools provide meeting space and volunteers to be trained as
reading partners
- The Barahona Center Reading Program Coordinator trains and supervises
host-school volunteers to select and read high-quality books (in English or
Spanish) to individual students to improve students’ reading abilities and
attitudes
- Teachers or principals are encouraged to contact the Center to discuss
participating in the Reading Partner Program
- We are committed to making books and reading a part of all young peoples
lives.
