April 27, 2002 Cal State San Marcos Qualifies 16th Athlete for NAIA Track Nationals at UCSD OpenThe Cal State San Marcos track and field team competed in several events and qualified another runner for the NAIA Nationals, today, April 27, during the UC San Diego Open. Junior Kris Houghton qualified for nationals and finished in 5th of 45 runners in the men's 1,500 m run with a time of 3:53.60. Earlier in the season, Houghton qualified for the 5,000 m run. Second-day results from Cal State San Marcos women's team: 100 m dash: Autumn Right, freshman, finished 7th of 32 with 12.13 seconds; Andrea Jackson, sophomore, finished 18th with 12.92 seconds; Tiffany Lowery, freshman, finished 22nd with 13.00 seconds; Jessica Walker, junior, finished 27th with 13.33 seconds. 200 m dash: Tiffany Lowery finished 21st of 30 with 26.58 seconds; Andrea Jackson finished 23rd with 26.67 seconds 400 m dash: Amy Cutshaw, junior, finished 5th of 23 with 57.02 seconds; Luci Downey, junior, finished 12th with 59.11 seconds. 800 m run: Felisha Mariscal, sophomore, finished 13th of 33 with 2:19.67; Manal Yamout, freshman, finished 25th with 2:26.15; Camille Wilborn, junior, finished 27th with 2:27.89. 1,500 m run: Katherine Nibblet, sophomore, finished 18 of 30 with 4:59.68. 4x100 relay: Women's team finished in 3rd of 6 with 48.17 seconds. 4x400 relay: Women's team finished in 5th of 9 with 3:53.87. High Jump: Abril Jiminez, sophomore, finished 15th of 16 with 4'09"00. (First Day Results) 3,000 m run: Katherine Nibblet, sophomore, finished in 9th out of 21 runners with a time of 10:49.22. She has already qualified for NAIA Nationals in the 5,000 m run. 5,000 m run: Lanele Cox, junior, finished 7th out of 16 runners with a time of 18:41.15.
