Cal State San Marcos Track & Field Closes Out Regular Season at Oxy Invitational

The Cal State San Marcos track and field team competed in the final meet of the regular season at the Oxy Invitational, hosted by Occidental College, on Saturday, May 10, 2003.

Cal State San Marcos Women’s Results:

100 m dash: Katrena Robinson placed 15^th with :13.62.

800 m run: Anne Marie Byrne placed 31^st with 2:23.94; Carissa Marin placed 35^th with 2:32.10.

5,000 m run: Katherine Niblett placed 14^th with 18:55.94; Yolanda Carillo placed 24^th with 20:25.69; Olympia Olguin placed 25^th with 20:37.20.

Triple jump: Samantha Barbour placed 11^th with 10.30 m (33’09.50).

Shot put: Cynthia Flores placed 15^th with 12.17m (39’11.25).

Javelin: Victoria Ciulla placed 17^th with 24.69 m (81’00.00).

Cal State San Marcos Men’s Results:

100 m dash: Yanta Morrow placed 25^th with :11.34.

400 m dash: Dax Solorzano placed 24^th with :49.57.

800 m run: Tony Herr placed 16^th with 1:54.39; Mike Shannon placed 23^rd with 1:54.95; Justin Lessel placed 32^nd with 1:56.20; Tim Irwin placed 46^th with 1:58.62; and Polo Mariscal placed 57^th with 2:01.03.

1,500 m run: Ed Mariscal placed 22^nd with 4:17.79.

5,000 m run: Carlos Sanchez placed 13^th with 15:47.35; Rene Reyes placed 17^th with 16:46.62; and Effrain Carillo placed 18^th with 16:48.82.

110 m hurdles: Anthony Blacksher placed 7^th with :15.06.

400 m hurdles: Robert Velasco placed 11^th with :57.68.

3,000 m steeple chase: Jesse Armijo placed 8^th with 9:35.05.

Pole vault: Jimmy Barbour placed 7^th with 4.60 m (15’01.00).

Javelin: Ed Wurtz placed 18^th with 51.28 m (168’03.00).
