February 28, 2004 Cal State San Marcos Starts Season at Carl Rossi Relays In their first official event of the season, the Cal State San Marcos track and field team posted some impressive finishes at the Carl Rossi Relays, today, February 28, 2004, 12 to 4:30 p.m. The event was hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges at the Burns Track & Field Complex in Claremont, Calif. The mid- and long-distance athletes did not compete. Cal State San Marcos Women’s Results: 100 m sprint: Katrena Robinson, sophomore, placed 24th of 32 with :13.51 100 m hurdles: Talia Chatterfield, freshman, placed seventh of 25 with :15.70 400 m hurdles: Abril Jimenez, senior, placed second of 21 with :63.87 4x400 m relay: Cal State San Marcos placed 12th of 19 with 4:18.12 Javelin: Victoria Ciulla, sophomore, placed ninth of 15 with 28.46 m (93-04) Cal State San Marcos Men’s Results: 100 m sprint: Billy Walker, freshman, placed second of 33 with :10.93; Kyle Leavy, freshman, placed eighth with :11.23 400 m hurdles: Matthew Curran, freshman, placed 16th of 22 with :59.77 4x100 m relay: Cal State San Marcos placed sixth of 9 with :43.38 4x400 m relay: Cal State San Marcos placed fifth of 17 with 3:26.96 Pole Vault: Jimmy Barbour, senior, placed first of 20 with 4.85 m (15-11) Discus: Ryan Russell, freshman, placed 31st of 34 with 34.82 m (114-03)
