Cal State San Marcos Track & Field Teams Place Third at San Diego Championships

The men’s and women’s track and field teams from Cal State San Marcos each placed third yesterday, March 13, during the 2004 San Diego City Championship at UCSD’s Triton Track and Field Stadium.

The women finished third out of six teams with a team score of 69, placing behind host UCSD in first with 217 and SDSU in second with 204. The men’s team placed third out of four teams with 89 points, finishing behind UCSD with 243.5 and Point Loma Nazarene with 132.5.

In the men’s competition, Cal State San Marcos took the top spot in the 100 m dash and the 5,000 m run.

100 m dash: Katrena Robinson, 11^th place with :13.55

200 m dash: Katrena Robinson, 14^th place with :28.40; Talia Chatterfield, 15^th with :28.61.

400 m dash: Ashleigh Davis, 9^th place with 1:01.76

800 m run: Camille Wilborn, 9^th place with 2:29.87; Kristina Hill, 10^th place with 2:29.94; Aimee Bradley, 14^th place with 2:33.49

1,500 m run: AnneMarie Byrne, 9^th place with 5:05.58; Aimee Bradley, 12^th with 5:10.66

3,000 m run: AnneMarie Byrne, 7^th with 10:46.64

100 m hurdles: Meggie Afenir, 3^rd place with :15.25; Talia Chatterfield, 5^th place with :15.66

400 m hurdles: Abril Jimenez, 7^th place with 1:10.43

3,000 m steeplechase: Rachel Osborn, 4^th with 13:04.00

4x400 relay: Cal State San Marcos 7^th place with 4:13.37 (Aimee Bradley, Abril Jimenez, Camille Wilborn, Ashleigh Davis)

Long Jump: Samantha Barbour, 9^th place with 4.56 m (14-11.50)

Shot put: Victoria Cuilla, 3^rd place with 9.74 m (31-11.50)

Discus: Samantha Barbour, 4^th place with 23.32 m (76-06)

Javelin: Victoria Cuilla, 5^th place with 28.65 m (94-00); Samantha Barbour, 7^th place with 23.57 m (77-04).
