Collaborative Lesson Study (CLS)

The project provides participating teachers with two Collaborative Lesson Study experiences every school year. Teachers work in teams on a Saturday to develop lesson plans and designate roles for each team member during the actual delivery of the lesson. On the Lesson Study rotation day, two teachers team teach the lesson, while others observe the interaction during the lesson. Teachers then meet and reflect upon student and teacher questioning and interaction to provide insight into revisions in the lesson that might strengthen the outcomes. All project teams debrief by analyzing students work, refine their TechQuest lesson further and share their lesson strategies and tools with other project teachers. The following lesson study events were held during year two of the project indicating lesson study teams. TechQuest lessons can be found under the resource link of the Web page.
