University Hazing Education Team

UHET Purpose
The purpose of the California State University San Marcos University Hazing Education Team (UHET) is to:

Proactively address hazing through preventative education

Promote the health and safety of CSUSM students
-
Foster the development of positive campus traditions
-
Promote positive student group identity development
About UHET
UHET capitalizes on the knowledge and expertise of a cross-divisional university team involving staff from the Dean of Students Office, Student Life and Leadership, University Police Department, Office of Athletics, Clarke Field House/University Student Union, and Associated Students, Inc. UHET intervention strategies and plans include:

Design hazing prevention efforts to be broad and inclusive of all students involved in campus organizations and athletic teams

Educate the campus community about the dangers and consequences of hazing

Offer students, faculty, and staff/coaches with resources to promote positive campus traditions and student group identity

Offer local and nationally-known hazing educators to speak with CSUSM students about hazing and related topics such as alcohol use
-
Develop safe and innovate methods for CSUSM community members to report potential hazing incidents
